Joseph Kabila’s 17-year rule in Congo expected to end with presidential election – Kinshasa Video

We’ll soon find out who will be the new president of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Election results are expected to be announced Sunday. Whoever wins will finally end Joseph Kabila’s 17-year rule. This could be Congo’s first peaceful transition of power since gaining independence from Belgium in 1960. However, there’s already been reports of voting irregularities. Willis Sparks, a CBSN contributor and Signal newsletter writer for GZERO Media, explains the significance.

  2. Things are not said correctly here. Kabila's candidate did not win the elections! The government says it after a lot of cheating. Shadary was booed everywhere he campaigned. People were killed in churches during peaceful protests while Shadary was the Minister of Homeland Security. So, people are not crazy to vote for him. So you should say that parti in power has cheated the elections not that they are going to win.

  10. Let’s me inform you about what happened to BENI, where people were excluded for vote due to EBOLA which is a Bulls***, they organized their own election and showed the world that simply the government have not reason to take their right to vote away. The commun denominator is the people.the result will be published today and if Martin fayulu or felix tshisekedi wins the people will win but if shadary wins you would see people reactions.we need the changement!
